Immigrants and Refugees are not a threat or and burden, their experiences are valuable contributions that create vibrant livable healthy communities.
 
At AGL we have invested in the leadership and capacity building, learning about the immigrants and refugees’ journey to their new country, we are inspired by their courage and commitments, we help support, engage them to connect them with each other through our English conversation “Raise Voices Initiative” or and (Each One, Reach One, Teach One “EOROTO” especially young people and women.  We work with these group of people in the Greater VANCOUVER, through Educational Workshops, Dialogue and Action to identify and remove barriers to their successful that are inclusive, intelligent and well informed.  (Having or showing knowledge of a particular subject or situation).

  • Sun-May 03, 2015-World Press Freedom Day (We support and protect the freedom of press Journalists) 
  • Thu-May 21, 2015- World Day for Cultural Diversity – Show case through cooking and servicing African Food to the homeless, dance and cultural activities in Vancouver.

  • Wed-Jun 17, 2015- World Day to Combat Desertification & Drought

    We celebrate “Kwanzaa” respecting its seven core principles (Nguzo Saba). It was created by Maulana Karenga, and was first celebrated in 1966–67.
